Jonathan Cake is an acclaimed and award-winning actor on both sides of the Atlantic who has played many roles in film, television and theatre here and in the UK. Most recently Jonathan appeared with Emma Thompson and Michael Gambon in Miramax's BRIDESHEAD REVISITED. His films also include FIRST KNIGHT with Sean Connery and Richard Gere, TRUE BLUE, HONEST, THE ONE AND ONLY, and the Showtime movie OUT OF THE ASHES in which he played Joseph Mengele opposite Christine Lahti.
Among many TV roles in the UK, Jonathan has played the title role in MOSLEY, Alistair Campbell in the BAFTA winning THE GOVERNMENT INSPECTOR, A DANCE TO THE MUSIC OF TIME, Ricky Gervais EXTRAS, and Eddie Izzard's COWS. In the US he has played leading roles in NBC's INCONCEIVABLE and CHUCK and ABC's EMPIRE.
Jonathan won the Theatre World award for his portrayal of Jason in Deborah Warner's MEDEA both in London's West End and on Broadway. He won the Barclay's Theatre Award for Best Actor for Silva Vaccarro in Tennessee Williams' BAB DOLL at The Royal National Theatre in London. In 2006, he played the title role in CORIOLANUS at The Globe in London. In 2008, he appeared as Iachimo in Lincoln Centre's CYMBELINE and worked with Ethan Coen on his stage debut ALMOST AN EVENING. He is currently starring in 'The PHILANTHROPIST on Broadway with Matthew Broderick.
